Community Involvement & Events

Michael Moebes is known as “Colonel Moe” for a reason: before he was a trial lawyer, he was a Lieutenant Colonel who deployed on multiple combat tours, and that same sense of duty shows up in how he spends his time outside the office. When he is not fighting for injured workers and accident victims, you will usually find him supporting the veteran and motorcycle communities that shaped who he is.

Veteran Community

Standing With Fellow Veterans

Michael is a senior member of his local Civil Air Patrol unit, where he regularly volunteers for training exercises across North Georgia. He also sponsors nearly every event hosted by American Legion Post 29 and the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association’s (CVMA) Cartersville chapter, from fundraisers to memorial rides. Here are a few of the veteran events where you will find him.

Each year over Memorial Day weekend, Michael takes part in the Hero Hill Climb at Camp Merrill in Dahlonega. Participants carry the name of a fallen service member 3.09 miles up a gravel road to a hilltop memorial, then ring a bell in their honor.

Michael sponsors the CVMA Fallen Heroes Dice Run, a charity motorcycle ride that starts at Southern Devil Harley-Davidson in Cartersville. Riders roll dice at stops along the route for a chance to win prizes, and the proceeds support veteran causes across Georgia, such as Mission 22 and other vets’ charities.

Motorcycle Community

Riding With the Motorcycle Community

Michael Moebes rides a Harley Davidson Road Glide. As an avid motorcyclist himself, Michael sponsors and shows up for rallies and rides throughout North Georgia. He supported International Female Riders Day with the Stilettos on Steel group in Newnan, rode in a motorcycle rodeo, and partnered with rider Biker Dad to promote safety and awareness across social media. If there is a motorcycle community event within riding distance of Atlanta, there is a good chance Michael and the Moebes Law team are there.

Annual Giveaway

Giving Back to Riders

Moebes Law also runs an annual motorcycle giveaway, offering a rider the motorcycle of their choice up to $20,000. It is one more way the firm invests directly in the community it serves.

Legal Advocacy

Beyond the Road

Michael’s involvement extends into the legal and advocacy world too. He has spoken at conferences for the Workers’ Injury Law and Advocacy Group and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and he is a Premier Member and the 2026 President of the National Academy of Motorcycle Injury Lawyers. In addition to presenting at events, he was also featured in PILMMA’s magazine and podcast, sharing what it takes to build a firm around service.

Why It Matters

Michael built Moebes Law because he wanted to fight for people who had been let down by a system, and that same instinct pulls him toward veterans, riders, and anyone else who could use someone in their corner. Sponsoring a ride or showing up to a training exercise is just another way of doing what the firm does every day: showing up for people.
