Teo Markov
Associate Attorney
Teo Markov grew up 5,455 miles away from Atlanta in Sofia, Bulgaria, and moved to the United States in 2001 with his family when he was only fifteen years old. He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from Georgia State University in 2009. While in college, Teo was active in Georgia State University’s Model United Nations team and traveled to New York City to compete against universities from all over the world by representing an assigned country in various mock United Nations committees. He then decided to channel his passion for taking on complex issues by pursuing law school and attended Georgia State University College of Law, graduating cum laude with a Juris Doctor degree in 2013.
While in law school, Teo participated in The Health Law Partnership Clinic where he represented real-world clients in probate law matters under the supervision of his professors. The GSU Law Health Law Partnership Clinic provided Teo with invaluable real-world experience by providing him with the opportunity to draft a will and advance directives for the parents of a child with special needs. It was this juncture that Teo saw first hand the difference proper legal aid can make in the lives of people in need. Teo has been admitted to the Georgia Bar since 2014 and has experience in representing employers, insurers, and injured workers throughout Georgia.
Teo has defended and taken countless depositions, coordinated medical treatment for injured workers, and successfully mediated and tried workers’ compensation cases. Teo gets favorable results through hard work, attention to detail, and understanding of the intricacies of the Georgia workers’ compensation system.
Teo has represented both insurance companies and injured workers, and has experience and insight into how insurance companies evaluate workers’ compensation claims. Teo also has passion for guiding injured workers through the increasingly complex system of rules and hidden pitfalls of the Georgia workers’ compensation system. Teo’s work approach consists of listening to the individual needs and concerns of each client with compassion and taking swift and decisive action to protect the rights of the injured worker.
In his free time, Teo enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, composing music, cooking, and traveling.
